This short film was made to advertise a hockey event which is being held in Edinburgh in 2011…..apparently to qualify as a ‘Golden Oldie’ you only have to be 35!  This is aimed attracting hockey lovers from as far afield as New Zealand & Australia, to come to Edinburgh & take part in not only the sport but also to enjoy everything else the city has to offer.

The guys from the Scottish Hockey team had all the moves & this was great fun to film & edit.  We used a lot of motion control & graded the shots to get some great effects.  We also composed & produced the music in-house – the piece gives us a good fast cutting pace which works really well with sport.

Still feeling slightly raw that age 35 is considered ‘Oldie’ though!

In between filming ourselves in the kitchen & being very busy media people, we also find the time to compose & produce original music.  This is a link to a preview of our recent commission from STV for their new 3 episode flagship factual programme, ‘Scotland Revealed’:

The brief was to compose a piece of music that would match the splendour of Scotland’s stunning scenery, filmed from the air.  After viewing the rough cut we knew we’d have to go full orchestral in order to do justice to Scotland in all it’s glory!  We just loved working on this – it raised the roof & made us especially proud to be Scottish!

For a sneaky preview check out the link – or better still watch it on STV Thursday 17 September at 9pm!

Some Nonsense

Some more time lapse nonsense – just to amuse ourselves!

We did shoot a time lapse for a client over the course of the weekend – an event build at the EICC.  We got the build from different angles and adjusted frame rates over the course of the 2 days to ensure sure we covered the scale of the build as effectively as possible.

Look out for the results will feature on the EICC website.

The LA Media Hub

[jwplayer config="GM1" mediaid="589"]

Anyone who’s ever been to LA Media will know that the kitchen is the hub – and look at us all go!  We should always be filmed in time-lapse, it makes us look very energetic indeed!

We filmed this over the course of 4 hours as a test with some new software.  It has indeed been a week of trying out some new things and investigating new software packages.  Time spent like this is most definitely time well spent – stretching our creativity, having a bit of fun with our kit…..and guess what, a client has just come to us and wants us to film an event build over 2 days….happy coincidence or what?
