Tommy's Honour is out now in the UK cinemas and LA Media was extremely proud to produce some outstanding drone footage for this BAFTA award-winning film. We are thrilled that our drone footage is being shown on the big screens across the UK.
We knew when we participated in the project that director Jason Connery was creating something special that showcases Scotland's rich golf heritage.
Watch the trailer below and see if you can spot the drone shots!
Drone Footage by LA Media 'Tommy's Honour Trailer'
For those not in the know, Tommy’s Honour is a historical Scottish drama that depicts the tumultuous lives, relationships and careers of the Scottish golfing champions Old Tom Morris and his son Young Tom Morris, portrayed by Peter Mullan and Jack Lowden respectively.
Not only is it a compelling tale of a complicated father and son but you will be treated to stunning views all around Scotland.
The whole LA Media team were lucky enough to attend the Scottish premiere of Tommy's Honour and believe us the drone footage belongs up on the big screen.

The drones really captured the majesty and beauty of the Scottish scenery. Our drone shots were chosen for the opening and closing scenes, which of course made us feel rather special (blush!).
Previously, we took you behind the scenes on this shoot and shared with you what it was like to work with director Jason Connery. Connery is the son of legendary Scottish Actor Sean Connery.
If you're a golf fan or just love a good Scottish drama we would recommend highly that you go see it for yourself in the cinema.

The LA Media team had a great time attending Film Edinburgh's Production Guide Summer party! Film Edinburgh, part of Marking Edinburgh, is the film office for Edinburgh, East Lothian, and the Scottish Borders.
With their crack team of knowledgeable creatives, they offer free advice to productions on the locations, crew, and facilities that are available in the area.
Who is Film Edinburgh?
For any production coming to Edinburgh, Film Edinburgh is an important first point of call.
Film Edinburgh helps with liaising with the City of Edinburgh Council, East Lothian Council, Scottish Borders Council, and Police Scotland (Edinburgh and Lothian & Borders divisions).
They've got the contacts you will need if your shoot requires parking, road closures, police personnel, street furniture removal, etc.

With the commencement of the Edinburgh Film Festival, the announcement of the new Scottish Film Studio, and all the recent attention Scotland has received from big feature productions such as T2 and the Avengers this party came just at the right moment!
The Party Banter!
The LA Media team got to meet lots of Edinburgh's talented creatives, such as makeup artists, publicists, prop-makers, fellow drone cinematographers, and producers.

The highlight of the night for the LA Media crew was meeting the publicist for Netflix's recent release Okja, directed by Bong Joon-ho and co-written by Bong and Jon Ronson.

We'd been discussing the movie only that day in the office so we were pleasantly surprised to then meet someone directly involved! No spoilers but this film will hit you right in the feels and is well worth watching.

The team here at LA Media were chuffed to be invited along to Screen Facilities Scotland's (SFS) 5th birthday party. The venue was an inspired choice, the SWG3 (Studio Warehouse in Glasgow) gave the night a proper media industry vibe! Packed with lots of industry colleagues and SFS customers, it was a great night of celebration and networking.
It was also the perfect opportunity for our team to meet up with old media colleagues and friends for a good old natter. SFS's guests were treated to a cool showreel showcasing the talents of SFS members - and what a talented bunch they are!

There was also copious amounts of free Glasgow's Makar fiery chili gin on offer to the guests all night. The LA Media crew are whisky lovers by nature but we do also consider ourselves to begin aficionados, and it has to be said Makar's make a fantastic gin! Well worth trying if you get the opportunity to. You just can't beat made in Glasgow.
Lily McLeod, the daughter of Joanne McLeod at Artem (creative effects and prop marking gurus) was responsible for treating the SFS guests to mouth-watering melt in the middle meringues, which came in a myriad of colours.

We pondered taking one back to our director Justin, who couldn't make it due to work commitments, but ate them instead on the way home - they were just too good to wait. Lily is a talented and charming self-taught baker from Glasgow. Lily's Instagram is full of #bakinggoals and delightful ideas. You can see more of her creations or even order a cake via her Facebook page, Lily Bakes.

But it wasn't all sweet treats, SFS treated us to sumptuous meaty hot dogs, salty popcorn, and even a kick-ass photo booth with a plethora of props. See photos and note this was before we cracked into the gin bar! It was a wonderful night and real joy to catch up with old friends. We are so happy to have attended and we were really impressed by the event put on by SFS.
